I need a work out buddy!

I need a workout buddy. I know I have spoke about this before, but it is really hard to stay motivated when you are solo. Even though once you get there, you have a bunch of wonderful women that have the same goal in mind. That also makes the hour go by a little quicker, but what about when your alarm goes off? Having a work out buddy gives you just another incentive to get your butt up. You know the deal, you just have to get there! This article from Open Air Fitness gives some great ideas.

Finding a Workout Buddy

A workout buddy makes all the difference in the world - for me too, and I'm supposed to be the role model. Having someone who is expecting me to show up, counting on me to be ready, and needing me for encouragement and motivation, makes me be more consistent and just plain better at my workouts.

Without a workout buddy, you may skip a day here and there for really lame reasons, you may cut your workout short, do fewer repetitions, or just not push as hard. That's why I really believe in working out with friends. If you need help finding a workout buddy, I have some ideas on how you can find one.

  • Look first to your family and friends. Who has a similar desire to get fit and be consistent at it? Who will push you and hold you accountable?
  • You could go to Craigslist and post an ad.
  • Your workout buddy doesn’t have to be someone at the exact same fitness level as you, though sometimes that helps. The main thing about a workout buddy is that it’s someone who is there for you (and vice versa) in all things health and fitness. That will make you accountable for showing up, work out (each at your own level), and still push and encourage each other
If you bring a work out buddy to Ormond Boot Camp-you will receive 1/2 on your boot camp session....now that is motivation!
